Medication assisted treatment (MAT) combines managed medication with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.  MAT is an effective and life-changing form of care that has been shown to increase retention in treatment and decrease the compulsion to engage in undesirable behaviors.  MAT integrates psychiatric services to treat common co-occuring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Specific medications and therapeutic interventions are utilized that support the individual in developing the skills and confidence needed to succeed in his/her treatment and recovery goals.
